Had a Great time doing an Acupressure Demo for Love on a leash. So interesting working with dogs and their parents who do so much for others in our community and around the country.
Therapy dogs do amazing work but it is important to make sure that they are also not taking on too much from their visits. These dogs go to hospitals, psyche wards, and some work with PTSD clients so there can be a lot of sadness and stress. Some dogs are great at letting go of this after their sessions some internalize. It is really important to watch your pup and make sure there is some fun time after their visit to allow a release.
Acupressure points also can help with this. Their are great points to clear the brain and calm the mind, as well as points to release fear and sadness. So if you have a therapy dog make sure they are happy and balanced after their visits too. 🙂
